2 Corinthians 8:13-15
For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened; but by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may supply their lack, that their abundance also may supply your lack—that there may be equality. As it is written, “He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack.”
As most of us know, there are more millionaires per capita in the USA than anywhere else in the world, and, are you ready for this…believe it or not, there are among them Christ loving, Bible-believing saints and fellow soldiers of the faith with a tremendous zeal for the Great Commission - although some of them might not realize it yet. Well, with Christ's help, we want to help them come to this realization, so that they'll make more substantial investments into their eternal portfolio.
It is our desire that the BWA will become a universal mechanism consisting of like-minded yet anonymous Believers of excessive financial means, determined to approach the War we are engaged in, from a tactical and perhaps even stealth perspective. With faith, wisdom, a strategic approach, and continual in-the-field personal follow-up, we hope to facilitate the most effective use of our combined resources possible, offering the greatest support we can give to the missionaries we will labor with on the battlefields and in the trenches of the global harvest fields.
We hope to provide the financial support and spiritual encouragement our selected missionaries need to fulfill the calling with which they've been called, and be a source of encouragement to those that face persecution, imprisonment, and death on a daily basis for their faith in and testimony of Christ Jesus. We realize there are many reasons missionaries abandon their ministry, and we know that the BWA cannot and is not the answer to all of them - only Jesus is - but as far as a lack of finances or encouragement, or a sense of abandonment is concerned, that we can, and intend to do something about!
Jeffrey Henry, the Founding Member of Soldier Card Co., LLC has learned by the experience of two years in a foreign field and the friendship of several international missionaries, that there seems to be three real areas of concern for the Church with regard to the effectiveness of many missionaries: First, a lack of well trained, biblically mature, doctrinally sound, and well-equipped soldiers, second, a good deal of redundancy, or an over saturation of personnel and resources in certain geographic regions, and third, it seems when missionaries are sent, or heed the call, forsaking loved ones, friends, property, and nation to “go”, often the interest and support of those loved ones, friends, and even their home church wane, the old “out of sight, out of mind” syndrome.
We're not saying that we've got it all figured out, but after meeting, knowing, supporting missionaries in foreign countries and having personal missionary experience, we have come to see, or have been shown, that there is a peculiar place of need that we would like to meet.
